Approaching Cala Vadella will see you witnessing beautiful sea views along a carpet of fine white sand below. Winding along the twisted road as you descend into the bay, you will be met with a magnificent sight of the turquoise blue sea, speckled with elegant yachts.
The beach is surrounded by pine-clad hills which make for picturesque country walks and at 275 metres wide and 50 metres long, such walks can last as long as you like. The quaint little caves at the left hand side of the beach are home to many a small sea creature making it a calm and neat little area, perfect for explorers and snorkelers.
The soft sand slopes softly into the shallow waters of turquoise and green providing a calm and peaceful decent. The beach itself is popular among young families looking for a relaxing yet entertaining day out.
In peak season, Cala Vadella can become crowded, so we recommend visiting at the beginning or end of season. At this time of year, the weather is warm and the people are more scarce. The beach itself can eat up an entire day as the activities are plentiful. The evenings provide a most romantic sunset so be sure not to miss out. If visiting in the pre-season, you may encounter the odd horse rider trotting along the beach.
Its crystal-clear waters play host to pedalo and kayak rentals as well as providing the perfect conditions for swimming and snorkelling. There is a dive school for those that like to discover underwater Ibiza, but simply sunbathing and relaxing is a great way to spend the day on Cala Vadella.
Other facilities include sunbeds and loungers as well as parasols. Showers are also located at the back of the beach and lifeguards patrol, ensuring safety in season. The beach is wheelchair accessible.
Etymologically, the name Cala Vedella, which formerly encompassed a much larger agricultural area with an abundance of names related to livestock, comes from the word ‘veal’ in Catalan, ‘Vedella’.

With multiple cafes, bars and restaurants in this little village, you'll never go thirsty or hungry! These pretty venues offer a peaceful ambience by day and a peppy atmosphere by night.
The seafood-serving Restaurant Maria Luisa is popular with young families, situated on the beach itself, it offers a brilliant view of the landscape and sunset. Likewise, Can Jaume restaurant is positioned right on the bay, where you can sit, sip cocktails and dine on some surprisingly tasty local dishes, salads and great pizzas.
LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
Located in the little village of Cala Vadella on the west coast of the island, Cala Vadella beach stretches out between Cala Carbo and Cala Moli. With easy access, the beach is just a 20-minute drive from Ibiza Town and a 10-minute drive from both San Antonio and San José
Reached by car, taxi or bus in the summer season, turn left at the roundabout along the road signposted for ‘beach and then continue down until you see the glistening water.
There is a car park, however, securing a spot in high season can prove a little difficult at times.
